Yogi government in action: Made this big plan to stop pollution in UP-NCR

Yogi government prepared a comprehensive action plan to control air pollution in UP-NCR. Anti-smog guns and sprinklers will be installed to prevent road dust. Diesel auto operations will be stopped in a phased manner in many districts including Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Baghpat.

Lucknow. The Yogi government has made a comprehensive and effective action plan to control the increasing air pollution in the Uttar Pradesh part of NCR. In this action plan prepared under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, considering road dust as the main cause of pollution, the focus has been on road improvement, dust prevention and strengthening the cleaning system.

Nodal officer appointed, project monitoring unit formed

The state government has made the principal secretary of the environment, forest and climate change department the chief nodal officer to monitor the campaign. Along with this, a Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) has been constituted at the state level, which will be headed by the Secretary of the department. This unit includes senior officers from the departments of Urban Development, Public Works (PWD), Housing and Urban Planning and Industrial and Infrastructure Development, so that all the schemes can be implemented smoothly.

Anti-smog guns and sprinklers to stop slow-moving road dust

Noida and Greater Noida authorities are implementing modern measures like anti-smog guns, sprinklers and mechanical cleaning to reduce road dust. This step will play an important role in improving the air quality of UP-NCR and is expected to provide relief to lakhs of people living in urban areas.

Phased ban on operation of diesel auto rickshaws in UP-NCR

To control pollution, a ban on diesel auto rickshaws is being implemented in UP-NCR.

  • Operation of diesel autos will be completely stopped in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad.
  • Diesel auto operation will be completely phased out in Baghpat by 31 December 2025.
  • Meerut Regional Transport Authority has banned new permits and their renewal for banned vehicles.
  • Diesel auto operations will also be stopped in a phased manner in Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli by 31 December 2026.
