When is Khandoba Jayanti 2025?
According to local tradition, the birth anniversary of Lord Khandoba is celebrated on the Shashti Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Agahan month. This time this date is on 26th November, Wednesday. Therefore, the birth anniversary of Lord Khandoba is celebrated on this day. The most famous temple of Khandoba is located in Jejuri village in Solapur district of Maharashtra. This place is the center of devotion and folk tradition of Khandoba.

Why did Mahadev take Khandoba incarnation?
According to the popular legend, in ancient times there were two powerful demons named Mani and Malla. Being proud of his power, he committed many atrocities on mankind and also started harassing sages etc. Then Lord Shiva incarnated as Martand Bhairav and challenged these demons to war. Seeing this incarnation of Mahadev, Mani and Malla apologized to him. Lord Shiva also forgave him. Martand Bhairav is also worshiped as Khandoba, Malhari Martand, Mallari and Khanderai.
Khandoba has 2 wives
According to the popular story, Khandoba has two wives. Their names are Mani (Mhalsa) and Banai (Banai). Lord Khandoba is adept in the art of warfare. The color of his horse is white. He always has a sword in his hand. There is ash on his body like that of Mahadev. In the pictures he is always seen with both his wives.
