Perplexity’s AI browser Comet is now available on Android. It comes with features like built-in AI assistant, voice interaction and ad blocking. Its aim is to compete with browsers like Google Chrome.
New Delhi: AI search engine Perplexity’s Comet browser is now available for Android users as well. Comet is an AI based browser. Through this, Android users can use Perplexity’s built-in AI assistant while browsing. Perplexity has not yet said when the iOS version of the Comet AI browser will arrive. By the way, a web version of Comet already existed.
Comet browser also available on Android
Perplexity has launched the Android version of Comet, an AI-based web browser. Comet is one of the first AI-native browsers to come to mobile platforms. While ChatGPIT’s Atlas browser came only for macOS, Comet is now available on mobile phones as well. Perplexity introduced a desktop version of Comet to Max subscribers in July 2025. However, some features of the desktop version are not available on Android. Browsing history and bookmarks will be synced between the desktop and mobile versions in the coming weeks, Perplexity spokeswoman Bijoli Shah said. Along with this, an agentic voice mode and built-in password manager are also being developed in Comet. Until then, Comet will work on Android’s own native password manager. Key features of Android Comet include AI assistant, voice interaction, cross-tab summarization, ad blocking, and contextual assistant.
What is Comet AI Browser?
Perplexity introduced Comet as an AI-based browser in July. In August, Perplexity also launched Comet Plus. Perplexity has launched Comet with the aim of competing with the world’s most used internet browser, Google Chrome. Comet Browser is designed like an AI agent. It can manage all tabs, summarize email and calendar events, and navigate web pages. A workspace where all the necessary information is easily accessible and features like the ability to send webpages as email make it different from other web browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
