‘Itna Bura Maarenge….’: Ex-Pakistan Cricketer Doesn’t Want India To Play Against His Team During Asia Cup 2025

IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2025: Ex-Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has shown his concerns before the high-octane clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan during the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, as he is worried that the Men in Green would suffer yet another humiliating loss.

India will lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan next month during the Asia Cup 2025 and might face each other again during the Super 4 stage.

But before the much-awaited clash, panic has struck amongst Pakistan fans and experts, who are well aware that they might lose another match against the Men in Blue. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side recently suffered a humiliating loss of 2-1 in the three-match ODI series against West Indies after 33 years, which has only increased their troubles before the upcoming continental tournament. And that’s why Basit Ali isn’t too hopeful of their team winning a match against India.

“I pray India refuses to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, just like how they did at the World Championships of Legends. Itni buri tarah maarenge na vo, ki aapne socha ni hoga(They will beat us so badly you can’t even imagine),” Basit was quoted as saying on the Game Plan YouTube channel.

The Men in Blue have had a brilliant record against arch-rival Pakistan in the shortest format, as they have won 10 out of 13 matches held between them. During the last match, when they had faced each other in the 2024 T20 World Cup, the Babar Azam-led side couldn’t chase a gettable target of 120 runs and lost the match by six runs.

Since the last few months, they have lost matches against some low-ranked teams like the USA, Zimbabwe, and Afghanistan. And with their star players putting up disappointing performances, chances are high that they will end up with similar results during the Asia Cup 2025.

At the same time, the Men in Blue are the reigning champions of the continental tournament as they had won during the 2023 edition, where they had defeated Sri Lanka during a low-scoring summit clash. Initially, the BCCI was supposed to organise this tournament in India. But according to the sources who had informed India Today in May that they won’t be featuring or playing during the Asia Cup after the Pahalgam terror attack, which had killed 26 tourists.

But BCCI’s decision changed, and the venue of the tournament was shifted to the UAE. And if India had opted out of this tournament, then the future of the Asia Cup would have become doubtful. Since a large part of this tournament’s financial backing is supported by the Indian broadcasters.
