Trump pretended to be a hero in front of Mamdani, repeated the lie more than 60 times

President Trump has taken credit for reducing India-Pakistan tensions. He said his administration avoided confrontation by threatening 350% tariffs, while India refuses third-party arbitration.

Washington: US President Donald Trump once again repeated his old claim. Said- He played an important role in reducing tension between India and Pakistan. He said this during his meeting with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani at the White House on Friday. Mamdani went to Washington for his first formal talks with the President after his election victory. Trump described the meeting as wonderful and said he “enjoyed” talking to him.

Trump once again referred to the standoff between India and Pakistan in May, saying, “I facilitated eight peace agreements between countries, including India and Pakistan. His administration played an important role in bringing the situation under control.” His comments were similar to those he has made throughout the week. On Wednesday, he claimed that he had threatened both India and Pakistan with 350 percent tariffs if they did not stop hostilities. He stressed that he had Played a decisive role in ending the conflict between the nuclear-armed neighbours.

Trump said- Prime Minister Narendra Modi had told him that we are not going to war. He has repeatedly emphasized on this. Since May 10, when he wrote on social media that after “long night” discussions facilitated by Washington, India and Pakistan have “agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire.” He has since said more than 60 times that he “helped defuse” the tension. However, India has consistently rejected suggestions of any third-party mediation.

New Delhi had launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7 in response to the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, in which 26 civilians were killed in the name of religion. The target of this operation was to create terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir. After four days of heavy drone and missile attacks, on 10 May the two sides reached an agreement to end hostilities.
