A 13-year-old student allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a school building in Jalna. 7th class student died. Police are investigating the cause of the incident and no suicide note has been found yet.
Jalna: A shocking incident came to light in Maharashtra’s Jalna district on Friday morning. A 13-year-old schoolgirl allegedly jumped from the roof of her school building, resulting in her death. The incident occurred between 7:30 and 8:00 am, causing panic among students, staff and local residents. According to Sadar Police Inspector Sandeep Bharti, the police received information at around 8 am that a girl had allegedly jumped from the upper floor of the school. A police team immediately reached the spot and started preliminary inquiry. The Class 7 student was found in a critical condition and was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Inspector Bharti said- Between 7:30 and 8 am we received information that a 13-year-old schoolgirl had committed suicide by jumping from the roof of the school. Investigation is ongoing. Only preliminary information has been received and it is too early to reach any conclusion. Something concrete can be said only after complete investigation.
Police have started talking to school officials, classmates and family members to understand the reasons behind the incident. CCTV footage of the school premises is also being examined to know the sequence of events. Officials said that no suicide note has been found yet. Local residents and parents have expressed concern over rising stress levels among school children and urged authorities to ensure strong emotional support systems in educational institutions. The body has been sent for post-mortem so that the exact cause of death can be known. Meanwhile, Sadar police station has registered an accidental death report (ADR) and further investigation is underway. The incident has shocked the school and the community, while authorities have assured a thorough and transparent investigation.
