New Delhi: Union Education Minister and Bihar BJP election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan received a grand and enthusiastic welcome in Bhubaneswar on Friday following the NDA’s historic win in the Bihar Assembly elections. Party workers and supporters from across Odisha gathered in large numbers at the Bhubaneswar airport to greet him.
Pradhan, waving a traditional gamcha, expressed gratitude towards the people of Bihar for the mandate. He said the victory reflected strong approval of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, BJP national president J.P. Nadda’s organisational strengths, and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s governance.
He added that Prime Minister Modi’s vision of “Poorvoday” — the development of eastern India — had received renewed public support in Bihar. According to him, welfare-oriented governance has made the BJP a trusted political option across the country, while the people have rejected the Congress’ “divisive and negative politics”.
Pradhan also congratulated Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and state BJP president Manmohan Samal on the victory of BJP candidate Jay Dholakia in the Nuapada bypoll.
A festive atmosphere prevailed at the airport, where traditional artists, dressed in ceremonial attire, welcomed the Union Minister with bells, conch shells, drums and folk dance. Supporters cheered, showered flowers and burst crackers as Pradhan arrived.
After the reception, Pradhan travelled directly to Puri’s Shreemandir to offer prayers and seek blessings of Mahaprabhu.
