Model Deepak Malhotra entered the world of acting with ‘Lamhe’. But this decision proved wrong for him. In the film, he played the role of Siddharth Kumar Bhatnagar, husband of Pallavi Bhatnagar (Sridevi) and father of Pooja Bhatnagar (Sridevi). His acting and dialogue delivery were heavily criticized. Apart from this, when he calls sleeping Pallavi (Sridevi) by different names in one scene, his pronunciation became a reason for joke. This 8 second scene ruined Deepak’s career so much that Yash Chopra himself replaced him with Sunny Deol in his next film ‘Dar’. The special thing is that Deepak had rejected ‘Chamatkar’ for ‘Lamhe’, which went to Shahrukh Khan’s account. Later, he appeared in the second and last film ‘Tejaswini’ released in 1994 and then changed his name to Dino Martelli and settled abroad and became a businessman.
