According to the American agency- USGS, the epicenter of the earthquake was near Narsingdi, Bangladesh and the tremors were felt at 10.08 in the morning. During this time, the game of the first session was being played between the teams of Bangladesh and Ireland. After the 55th over of the second innings, Ireland’s score was 165 runs for five wickets, when the play was interrupted for a while due to the earthquake. However, the play resumed a few minutes after the incident.

Cricket Ireland wrote on Twitter, ‘Wow! The game has stopped here due to a minor tremor/earthquake. During this, tremors were felt for about 30 seconds and the players sat down on the field. The players present in the dressing room also came down. However, there was no loss of life or property. Earlier, a similar incident was seen in the year 2022, when the Under-19 match between Zimbabwe and Ireland was stopped for some time due to the earthquake.

So far, the dominance of Bangladesh team has been seen in this match. After winning the toss and batting first, Bangladesh team managed to score 476 runs in its first innings. In response, Ireland lost 7 wickets for 175 runs. That means Bangladesh team has maintained its hold on the match. At the same time, the first match of this series was also in the name of Bangladesh. It defeated Ireland by an innings and 47 runs.
