Where is Yashoda’s daughter whom Nan Baba had taken to jail instead of Krishna? Many people do not know about him… – News Himachali News Himachali

We all know the story of the birth of Lord Shri Krishna. Since childhood, we have been listening to the Leelas of Kanha, on the day Lord Krishna was born, a daughter named Yogamaya was also born in the house of Yashoda and Nand in Gokul.

Nanda and Vasudeva exchanged their children and an attempt was made by Kansa to kill Yogamaya in place of Krishna. Let us know about Yashoda’s daughter.

Yashoda’s daughter was born with Krishna

According to Bhagwat Purana, at the time of the birth of Lord Krishna, Krishna was born as the eighth son of Devaki and Vasudev in the prison of Mathura. At the same time, a girl was born to Nand Baba and Yashoda in Gokul. After the birth of Krishna, Vasudev ji took the newborn Krishna across Yamuna to Gokul as per divine order. He picked up Yashoda’s newborn daughter (named Ekansh or Yogamaya) and placed her in Krishna’s place. Then he returned to Mathura jail with the girl.

Yashoda Mata’s daughter is worshiped as Vindhyavasini Devi.

As soon as Kansa got the news that Devaki’s eighth child had been born, he immediately ran to kill him. But as soon as he threw the girl on the ground, she freed herself from Kansa’s hand and appeared in the sky as a goddess and said – ‘You fool! The one who killed you has taken birth and has reached a safe place. After this, this girl went to Vindhya mountain and started worshiping as ‘Vindhyavasini Devi’.

This is how the goddess became present in Vindhyachal.

Yogamaya is considered to be the magical power of Lord Vishnu. The goddess is also known by the names Katyayani, Chamunda, Bhavani, and Vindhyavasini. Her worship has special significance on Navratri and special festivals. It is said that the Gods had told Mother Goddess that your work on earth has been completed, now you should go to the world of gods. Then the goddess had said that I will live on earth in different forms, whichever devotee meditates on me, I will appear in that form. Then the Gods praised the Goddess by building a Shaktipeeth in Vindhyachal and the Goddess resided there.
