Adani Group founder chairperson Gautam Adani unveiled a roadmap to invest in nuclear power, artificial intelligence and massive infrastructure at the conglomerate’s annual general meeting (AGM) on Wednesday.
“We built when it was hardest to build,” Gautam Adani said, describing FY26 as a defining year despite what he called a period of “extraordinary scrutiny” as he addressed shareholders.
He said that the group is positioning itself for a world where energy security, technology and national sovereignty are becoming increasingly intertwined.
Adani stated that Adani Atomic Energy has identified land and aims to generate 10 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2035.
He said that infrastructure and artificial intelligence are no longer separate themes. “Infrastructure gives a nation muscle. Intelligence gives a nation mastery,” he said, adding that the group is accelerating its investments in digital infrastructure to support the next wave of economic growth.
He further said that the group’s data centre business would target a 3 GW platform by 2030 and highlighted a deal with Google for a gigawatt-scale data centre project in Visakhapatnam, signalling the scale of AI-driven demand expected in the coming years.
He said that technology leadership would increasingly depend on infrastructure, from energy systems and transmission networks to ports, logistics hubs and data centres.
The group has invested more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore in infrastructure during FY26, he said, adding that it represented more than 30 percent of India’s total new private sector capital expenditure during the year.
He said that Adani Power is executing India’s largest private-sector power expansion programme, involving investments of over Rs 2 lakh crore. The company aims to build 45 GW of generation capacity over the next five years, he said.
Adani talked about operational milestones in the logistics sector. He said that Adani Ports handled more than 500 million tonnes of cargo during FY26 and is targeting one billion tonnes by 2030.
He stated that the group’s Vizhinjam port has crossed one million TEUs in its first year, making it one of the fastest-growing ports in the country.
Adani spoke about the launch of Navi Mumbai International Airport and the new integrated terminal at Guwahati Airport. He described Navi Mumbai International Airport as a world-record infrastructure project, designed to handle 90 million passengers annually.
He said that partnerships with Leonardo and Embraer have helped create domestic manufacturing ecosystems for helicopters and regional aircraft.
