ED action at 42 locations in Bengal-Jharkhand, land papers and jewelery seized along with cash worth Rs 10 crore

ED took major action against coal mafias in Jharkhand and West Bengal. More than Rs 10 crore in cash, land documents and jewelery were recovered in raids at 42 locations. The action is said to be related to illegal coal mining and smuggling.

ED Raid in Jharkhan-West Bengal: ED (Enforcement Directorate), the investigative agency that keeps an eye on money laundering and wrongful money transactions, has recently taken major action against coal mafias in Jharkhand and West Bengal. ED has simultaneously raided more than 40 locations in both the states. While search operations were conducted at 18 locations in Jharkhand, action was taken at 24 locations in West Bengal. during this time

Coal theft caught on a large scale

The action taken by ED in Jharkhand has revealed revenue loss worth crores of rupees due to large-scale coal theft and smuggling. The cases in which action is being taken include those related to Anil Goyal, Sanjay Udyog, LB Singh and Amar Mandal.

ED raids 24 locations in West Bengal

Another ED team raided 24 locations in Howrah, Durgapur, Purulia and Kolkata districts of West Bengal. This action is related to illegal coal mining, illegal transportation and illegal storage of coal. Narendra Khadka, Anil Goyal, Yudhishthir Ghosh, Krishna Murari Kayal and some other names are included among those whose whereabouts are being processed.

More than Rs 10 crore cash found

A total of 42 locations have been raided under the joint action of ED in Jharkhand and West Bengal. During this period, more than Rs 10 crore in cash, land documents worth crores and jewelery have been recovered. So far, more than Rs 8 crore in cash and jewelery has been seized from searches at the hideouts of coal mafia in West Bengal. At the same time, more than Rs 2.2 crore cash and 120 land documents have been seized from locations in Jharkhand. ED says that in a few days there may be more big revelations related to these cases.
