Ingredients for making Kosambari
- 3/4 cup soaked yellow moong dal (about 135 g)
- 1/2 cup chopped cucumber
- 1/2 cup grated carrot
- 1 green chilli, chopped
- 1 raw mango, chopped
- 1/3 cup tender coconut cream or grated coconut
- Salt, black pepper, some black salt
- juice of 1 lemon
- Some pomegranate and grated coconut for garnish

Simple trick to make Kosambari
- Soaked lentils are used to make Kosambari. But you can make it tasty with the help of a simple trick. Soak moong dal in hot water for 2 to 3 hours and then cook it in a steamer. By doing this the rawness of the pulses will be removed and the taste will also increase.
- Mix all the above mentioned ingredients in steamed dal and add some pomegranate and grated coconut for garnish.
- You can add salt, black pepper and green chilli as per your choice. Add some lemon juice to it and eat it as an evening snack.
- If you want to increase protein intake, you can add chopped and roasted slices of cheese or cottage cheese to the kosambari. By doing this, children will also eat the healthy protein snack with gusto and will demand to make it again and again.
