New Delhi: The ongoing feud surrounding Savi and Jigra has been pushed into an even more dramatic phase after actor-director Divya Khosla Kumar released a phone call recording with filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt. The audio, shared by Divya on Thursday, has been presented as her response to reports claiming that Mukesh accused her of creating the controversy for “publicity.”
In the clip, he is heard denying ever making such remarks, leading Divya to allege deliberate sabotage within the film industry.
Phone call recording sparks fresh questions
The call opens with Divya asking Mukesh directly whether he had accused her of manufacturing the feud. The veteran producer immediately dismisses the suggestion, saying, “Na mereko kisi ne pucha, na maine kisi ko bola. This is again created by people who’ve got vested interests.” He appears to reassure Divya that he had not spoken against her, adding, “Beta, this is all planned… somebody wants to hurt you and has intentionally planned this. First of all, I didn’t know it was your birthday. Aur main aise harkat nahi karta; by now you know me, beta.”
Divya stated that the negative coverage had deeply upset her because it surfaced on her birthday. Mukesh can be heard urging her to stay focused, hinting that pressure may have come from “the other camp,” while telling her she has “a good year planned ahead.”
Divya alleges industry “lobbying” is targeting her
Alongside the audio, Divya shared a lengthy statement expressing her disillusionment. She wrote, “I am deeply shocked by this revelation… With a heavy heart, I feel it is important to open this truth to the public, especially for all those artists and fans who have suffered under hierarchy, lobbying, and gatekeeping in our film industry.” She continued, “This behaviour is unacceptable and cannot be normalised. It is time we speak up. It is time we call out the industry mafia. I will raise my voice, and I will fight this out.”
Her post comes days after Mukesh, in an earlier interview, had been quoted saying, “What Divya did for publicity, I don’t know about that… Everyone needs publicity, and for publicity, you need some controversy.” He had also defended Alia Bhatt, stating she would never need to resort to such tactics, adding, “Usko yeh chichori harkat karne ki zarurat nahi hai.”
The dispute originally began in 2024, when Divya accused Jigra of lifting Savi’s jailbreak premise and later suggested that the film’s box-office numbers were inflated.
