Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric: What to expect from the Sportier EV SUV

New Delhi: The Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric hasn’t been revealed yet, but enough details are out to give a basic idea of what it will offer. It’s expected to be very close to the regular Cayenne Electric, just with a sportier, coupe-style shape. Most of the features, tech and the battery setup should stay the same, with only a few changes in styling and price.

Since the coupe versions of the petrol Cayenne cost a bit more than the standard models, the same trend is expected for the electric version. For reference, the ICE Cayenne Coupe in India starts at Rs 1.44 crore and goes up to Rs 1.95 crore. The Cayenne Coupe Electric could be priced between Rs 1.8 crore and Rs 2.3 crore.

Porsche has not shown the Cayenne Coupe Electric officially yet, but the overall look is expected to follow the pattern of the regular Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe. The electric coupe should have a sloping roofline, giving it a sportier shape than the standard SUV. Like most coupe-style SUVs, this design will likely reduce rear headroom and boot space slightly. Apart from this, the styling is expected to follow Porsche’s latest EV design language, similar to what we have already seen on the Cayenne Electric SUV.

Inside, the setup should be the same as the Cayenne Electric SUV. This means a clean dashboard, a 3-spoke steering wheel and a fully digital driver’s display. It is also expected to get a 14.5-inch curved touchscreen in the centre. Optional features may include a 14.9-inch screen for the front passenger and a heads-up display with augmented reality.

Most features should be carried over from the standard electric version. These include 8-way powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging and a premium audio system. However, cabin layout and materials should remain unchanged.

Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric: Powertrain

Motormaker has not shared the powertrain details yet, but it will likely use the same setup as the Cayenne Electric SUV. The regular Cayenne Electric uses a 113kWh battery and a dual-motor AWD system. In the standard SUV, this setup makes 408hp and 835Nm, while the Turbo version makes 1,156hp and 1,150Nm. The claimed range for these versions is 642 km and 623 km.
