India–Qatar media ties get a push as envoy meets QMC chairman Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani

New Delhi: India and Qatar have taken a fresh step toward strengthening bilateral media cooperation as Indian Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Vipul, met H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), in Doha on Monday.

During the meeting, both sides discussed expanding collaborative opportunities between Indian and Qatari media organisations. The talks covered enhanced content exchange, training partnerships, capacity-building initiatives, and greater cooperation to ensure accurate and transparent information flow between the two nations.

Ambassador Vipul highlighted India’s commitment to deepening its long-standing ties with Qatar, noting that media engagement plays a crucial role in strengthening people-to-people relations and cultural understanding.

Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani emphasized Qatar Media Corporation’s interest in fostering professional collaboration with Indian media entities, underscoring the importance of sharing expertise and exploring modern communication strategies.

The meeting is viewed as another positive development in the broader India–Qatar partnership, reinforcing cooperation across sectors including energy, labour, trade, culture, and now media.

Both sides expressed confidence that stronger media relations will contribute to building a more informed and connected audience in both countries.
