Liquor lovers living in Delhi are going to get a big shock this week. All liquor shops will remain closed for two consecutive days in the capital. Not only shops, but also the sale of liquor will be stopped on both these days, restaurants, hotels and clubs. That is, in these two days, people will not be able to sit anywhere and enjoy alcohol.
The Excise Department of the Delhi government has issued strict orders for not selling liquor on 15 August (Independence Day) and 16 August (Janmashtami). According to the order, Independence Day, Janmashtami and 2 October (Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti) have been declared dry day under Excise Rules. These days there will be a complete ban on the sale of liquor. But this time, due to continuous prohibition of two days, liquor drinkers may face more trouble.
Alcohol will not be found in the hotel either
It has also been clarified in the order that these days hotels, bars and clubs will not be able to serve alcohol. Although some special category hotels will be allowed to provide liquor through room service under license, but this facility will be available only in those hotels which are approved by the tourism department of the Government of India.
Strictness in UP, Mumbai and Bengaluru also
Talking about Uttar Pradesh, the sale of liquor will remain closed here only on August 15, that is, liquor shops will be open on Janmashtami in UP and people will be able to buy liquor like normal days. At the same time, the sale of liquor in Mumbai has also been banned for two days, on August 15 and 16, all liquor shops will be closed and in addition to this, the sale of liquor will be closed in restaurants, bars or hotels. In Bengaluru also, Dry Day has been declared on August 15 and August 16 in consecutive days, due to which the sale of liquor will be banned here for two days.
