Mohammad Rizwan: Pakistan cricket team will go on tour to West Indies next month. A 2-match test series is to be played between the two teams on this tour. Meanwhile, a big news is coming out about Pakistan cricket team’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan. There is a big crisis looming over Rizwan’s fitness before the Test series against West Indies next month, due to which there is suspense regarding his playing on this tour.

Mohammad Rizwan undergoing rehab

The Pakistani team is currently part of the training camp for the red-ball tours at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), which started from June 8 and will continue till July 10. However, according to reports, Rizwan had joined the camp a week late from the scheduled time. Due to injury problem, he is not able to participate in the team’s regular practice sessions and net sessions and is currently undergoing rehabilitation process under the supervision of medical staff.

Fitness test will be held on 6th July

The medical team of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will take the final decision on the fitness of Mohammad Rizwan on 6th July. On the basis of this assessment, it will be decided whether he will be able to fly for the West Indies tour or not. The Pakistani team is scheduled to leave for the West Indies on July 13, where they will also have to play a four-day warm-up match from July 18 before the Test series. If Rizwan is not declared fully fit on time, then young wicketkeepers Rohail Nazir and Ghazi Ghori can be included in the main team as his substitutes. Rohail Nazir has already been linked with the red-ball camp as a backup.

Pakistan’s most consistent test run-scorer

If Mohammad Rizwan is out of this tour, it will be a big blow for the Pakistani team. Rizwan has been Pakistan’s most reliable and consistent run scorer in Test cricket for some time. In his last 15 Test matches, he has scored 1,157 runs, which includes one century and 9 half-centuries. During this time, he is the highest run scorer for the country in this format.
