New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on ‘seva’ in his live address on the occasion of the birth centenary of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. He said that the principle of service is the basis of Indian culture and such great gurus like Satya Sai Baba show us the direction of humanity.
Miracle of Sai Trust’s charitable works
Prime Minister Modi appreciated the charitable work of Sai Central Trust. He said that the Trust has done a lot of work in health care, education and disaster relief. Works like providing clean drinking water to the people in Rayalaseema and building houses after the Odisha floods are examples of this. Modi said that service is the supreme religion and this mantra has been giving strength and life to India for centuries.
Can Sai Baba’s teachings change lives even today?
The Prime Minister reminded that during the Gujarat earthquake, Sai Baba’s followers were the first to help the victims. They delivered relief material to the affected families and also provided emotional and social support for several days. “When a meeting touches someone’s heart or changes a life, that is true greatness,” Modi said.
New initiative of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and Trust
Modi also highlighted the government’s Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. He said that the Trust opened 20,000 new accounts under this scheme, which is a symbol of empowerment of young girls. This initiative promotes education, security and financial empowerment in the society.

The Prime Minister participated in the sacred cow donation ceremony. Here the farmers were presented with Gir cows, which are a symbol of nutrition, culture and rural prosperity.
