Russia ready to give SU-57 jet to India
Russian President Vladimir Putin is coming to India next month, but before that a news has come from Moscow which can increase the future strength of the Indian Air Force manifold. Russia has made an ‘open offer’ to India for its most modern and deadly weapon, Su-57 fifth generation stealth fighter jet. The special thing is that Russia has not only accepted India’s technical demands, but has also said that it is fully ready to transfer the technology of this aircraft without any restrictions.
Technology will be available without any conditions
During the Dubai Air Show 2025, Sergei Chemezov, CEO of Russian state defense company Rostec, has given a big statement invoking the old relations between India and Russia. He made it clear that Russia is committed to meeting the security needs of India. Chemezov said that even when there were sanctions on India, Russia continued the supply of arms and their stance continues to be the same even today.
On the demand for Su-57 or S-400 system, he clarified that whatever India wants, Russia will provide it. Vadim Badekha, Director General of UAC, a subsidiary of Rostec, has also confirmed that Russia has accepted whatever technical concerns or conditions have been put forward by India regarding the Su-57. This step is setting a new example of trust between the two countries.
Everything will be available from engine to radar
This news is important for the common Indian because it is not just a deal to buy an aircraft, but there are preparations to build it in India itself. Russia’s state arms exporter company ‘Rosoboronexport’ has proposed that Su-57 can also be produced in India.
Under this proposal, Russia will give India the technology through ‘technology transfer’ which till now was considered very secret. This includes fighter jet engine, AESA radar, optics, AI elements and ‘low signature technology’ that avoids enemy radar.
Not only this, Russia has also talked about jointly developing a ‘two-seater’ version of this aircraft for India. This simply means that in future, India will not have to fear restrictions from any other country for spare parts or supply chain, because important spare parts will be made in India only.
