Part 2: That ‘Birthday Trekking’ of Lohagarh Fort and the bloody end of the 17 crore wedding
Just a year had passed since this horrific incident in Meghalaya, when on June 18, 2026, an even more shocking case came to light in Pimpri-Chinchwad area of Pune. Ketan Agarwal, son of Maharashtra’s well-known construction king Vishal Agarwal, was scheduled to get married in a luxurious palace in Udaipur in November. For this royal wedding, the family had booked the palace for Rs 17 crore and even two private jets had been arranged for the guests. Just before the wedding, Ketan had gone trekking to the famous Lohagad Fort near Pune to celebrate his fiancee Sia Goyal’s birthday. After some time there was a scream on the hill. Sia tearfully said that while getting photographs taken on the banks of the valley, Ketan’s foot slipped and he fell into a deep ditch. The rescue team had to struggle for three hours to remove the body.

The ‘third’ person was hiding behind the camera
Initially it seemed like a tragic accident, but when the police, under the leadership of SSP Sandeep Singh Gill, analyzed the mobile data, telephone records and statements of eyewitnesses present at the spot, Sia’s story collapsed like a house of cards. The truth was that Sia was against this marriage. She was in love with her colleague Chetan Chaudhary. According to the police, the birthday trekking drama was staged only to remove Ketan from the way. Investigation revealed that at the time of the incident, lover Chetan Choudhary was also present on the same hill and both of them together had pushed Ketan into a deep valley. Both the accused have confessed to their crime.
Creepy similarities: Why were two innocent people sacrificed?
An analysis of these two high-profile cases reveals hair-raising similarities:
- Relationship of appearance: In both cases, the girls came under social or family pressure to formally accept the relationships, even though their hearts were somewhere else.
- Murder of trust: Both Raja and Ketan felt that they were starting a beautiful future with their soulmate. One was celebrating honeymoon, while the other was dreaming of the most expensive and grand wedding of his life.
- Selection of location: In both cases the murderers chose beautiful vistas of nature (mountains and ravines) to make the murder look like an ‘accident’.
Currently, Sonam is waiting for her fate in the jail cell, while the fate of Sia Goyal, the mastermind of Ketan’s death, and her lover Chetan Choudhary is now certain to be decided at the doorstep of the law. Both these incidents have proved that when relationships are poisoned by coercion and deception, even beautiful valleys become crematoriums.
