For this reason, the initial time after death is considered necessary for rituals like Pind Daan and Shraddha. It is also mentioned in Garuda Purana that the soul has to face many difficulties while reaching Yamaloka. On the basis of a person’s deeds, he gets happiness or sorrow, while Pind Daan is said to be helpful in the journey of the soul.
