The black velvet wedge heels created in 1938 are still counted among the most popular designs, which were studded with pearls, diamonds and colorful gemstones.

Salvatore Ferragamo was so impressed by the Queen’s style that he created wooden molds of her feet, so that each shoe could be made with a perfect fit. Even today, these wooden foot molds and many rare shoes are kept safe in the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence, Italy.
