Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar, who were married for nearly four years, announced their separation this year. The television actress’ separation rumours with Suraj spread like wildfire online after the duo unfollowed each other on Instagram.
A few days later, Mouni and Suraj shared an official joint statement about their decision to part ways. During the promotions of her new series Ab Hoga Hisaab, the actress finally opened up about dealing with heartbreak and betrayal. The actress revealed how spiritual growth has changed her outlook.
Mouni Roy on dealing with heartbreak after separation
Speaking to The Free Press Journal, Mouni revealed she would forgive people easily when she was younger, and continues to do so. However, the only difference is that the actress earlier wouldn’t forget the hurt caused, and now she feels God makes one forget it. This is something she realised with her personal and spiritual journey.
The Ab Hoga Hisaabactress also shared why she refuses to hold onto resentment. “If you don’t let it go, you will be the one who will be hurting the most. And sometimes the other person who hurt you is not even thinking about it, no matter how big a hurt they have caused you,” she added.
That said, Mouni admitted that there have been people who intentionally caused her pain and created negativity. She mentioned that there are some ‘evil’ people who go out of their way to hurt the ones. While she didn’t called any person ‘evil’, but stated that their qualities are such.

On May 14 this year, Mouni and Suraj posted a note, announcing their separation. In a joint statement, the duo said, “We would like to state that we have decided to part ways and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably.”
The estranged couple added that attempts have been made to sensationalise their private lives by circulation of fictitious narratives, and falsehoods. According to them, the false narratives do not reflect the reality of their relationship. The actress also requested everyone to give her and Suraj privacy and refrain from sharing false stories about them.

On the work front, Mouni’s series, Ab Hoga Hisaab is streaming on Amazon MX Player. Before that, she was seen in Varun Dhawan-starrer Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The rom-com opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences.
