The official language of this country, which is a colony of the British, is English, but a form of Hindi language is also spoken here. Trinidad and Tobago have a literacy rate of 98.6 percent, due to which it is the most educated Caribbean country.

Domination of people of Indian origin
Trinidad and Tobago are dominated by people of Indian origin. For the first time in May 1845, the descendants of Indians, who were taken there for the first time as a bonded laborer, are fully occupied in the country today. Along with the President, Prime Minister of this country, people of Indian origin are also held on the post of Speaker of Lok Sabha. Eminent lawyer and politician Christine Carla Kangalu is the President there. Kamla Prasad Bisacer of Indian origin is the Prime Minister, who has re -dumped in May 2025. Earlier, she became Prime Minister in 2010, when she became the first woman of Indian origin, who reached the post of Prime Minister of a country. Jagdev Singh, Speaker of Lok Sabha of Trinidad and Tobago, has been elected on May 23 (2025) this year. They are also of Indian origin.

The capital of Trinidad and Tobago is Port of Spain. Even after being very close to South America, it is considered part of Caribbean. This is the country giving steel pan drum to the world. This instrument was invented in Trinidad in the 20th century. Now it is the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago.
