A similar case has happened in Surat, Gujarat. A 24-year-old IT employee died after falling during an IT program in a college in Surat. The tragic incident took place during an information technology event in Surat on Sunday evening.
Jill Thakkar fell on the stage
The name of the deceased girl was Jill Thakkar, who was originally from Raipur. Jill was a web developer and had come to participate in WordCamp Surat 2025 held at Shri Swami Atmanand Saraswati Institute of Technology (SSASIT), Kapedra. Moments after finishing her speech on stage at the event, she collapsed and died.
At around 5 pm, Thakkar came on stage to represent her company. She collapsed shortly after finishing her speech there. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but could not be saved.

According to initial information, he had suffered a heart attack. But the exact cause of death will be known only after post-mortem and investigation by forensic experts. Kapedra Police Inspector M.B. Ausura said that samples of his organs have been sent to the lab for further investigation. Jill Thakkar, who has completed MCA degree, reached Surat at around 4 am on Sunday morning for this program and was at the venue till 9 am. According to the report, she was working in an IT company in Ahmedabad for the last two years and regularly represented her company at technology events held in the city. The event was attended by a large number of IT professionals and students.
