Cold wave in MP: This time the cold in Madhya Pradesh has shivered people in the beginning of November. Due to icy winds, the night temperature in Bhopal, Indore and many districts reached below 5 degrees Celsius. In the capital Bhopal, the record of the last 84 years was broken. The Meteorological Department has issued cold wave and severe cold wave alert in half the state. School timings have had to be changed in many districts, so that children can get relief.
Is the capital scared of 5.2 degree temperature?
Bhopal recorded 5.2°C on the night of 16-17 November – the coldest November night since 1941. There was dense fog in the morning and the effect of severe cold was clearly visible in the city. According to meteorologists, the cold winds coming continuously from the north are taking the temperature further down. The alert of the next 48 hours is considered to be the most important.
In which districts was the second wave alert issued?
According to the Meteorological Department, severe cold wave (Orange Alert) is in force in Bhopal, Indore and Rajgarh. Whereas yellow alert has been implemented in Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa, Harda, Betul, Dewas, Sehore, Shajapur, Vidisha, Raisen, Sagar, Shivpuri, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Satna, Panna, Damoh, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Shahdol. The night temperature in these districts is dropping below 7-10 degrees.
Which cities became the coldest?

- Schools will start from 9 am in Indore from 18th November.
- In Bhopal, classes from nursery to 8th will not start before 8:30 am.

- In many places, parents are still hoping for relief as the cold is continuously increasing.
