The NIA investigation into the Delhi car blast case revealed that the Jaish module was preparing Hamas-like drone attacks and serial blasts using mini-rockets. Kashmiri accused Jasir Bilal Wani was playing a key role in drone modification and explosive technology.
New Delhi. As the investigation into Delhi’s Red Fort suicide blast case is progressing, the NIA is coming to know shocking secrets. After the new arrest, it has come to light that this was not a small matter, but a high-tech terrorist module was active which was preparing serial blasts through drones on the lines of Hamas and ISIS.
How was such a large sleeping module revealed?
This module related to Jaish-e-Mohammed has been newly revealed, whose member is Jasir Bilal Wani, who is said to be very adept technically. According to NIA investigation, Wani was providing necessary technical support for drone modification, preparation of small rockets and car bombs. The investigation also found that this module wanted to repeat the destructive tactics like Hamas in India by dropping bombs from drones in crowded areas. But NIA exposed this conspiracy in time.
Was Vani the ‘technical brain’ of the drone module?
NIA said that Jasir Bilal Wani had provided the technology to install cameras, batteries, special grips and small but powerful bombs in the drone. His role appears to be not just that of a collaborator, but that of a “technical mastermind”. NIA says that this module had planned to carry out chain blasts in many areas of Delhi and NCR by dropping bombs through drones.
Was Jasir Bilal Wani’s role just technical or something else?
- During interrogation, it was revealed that Jasir Wani was recruited by the ‘Doctor Group’ of the module in a mosque in Kulgam.
- Vani took responsibility of drone modification
- Explain how to make mini-rocket
- Planning was done in a rented room in Faridabad, Delhi.
- A terrorist named Umar Un Nabi was said to be its main mastermind.
- Wani is being called the technical brain of this entire planning.
Did the Jaish module want to repeat the Hamas-style drone attack in Delhi?
Sources claim that the module was preparing low-cost but high-impact attacks similar to drone attacks carried out by terrorist organizations in Syria, Iraq, Israel and Afghanistan. This strategy was being seen on such a large scale for the first time in India.
‘Shoe bomb’ found under the car: Was the infamous incident of 2001 about to be repeated?
The investigation found another major clue – a suspicious shoe found under the driver’s seat inside the car. The forensic team has found a metallic substance and traces of TATP explosive in it. This revelation is reminiscent of the infamous ‘Shoe Bomber’ case of 2001, when an attacker tried to attack an airplane with TATP explosives hidden in his shoes. NIA suspects that the terrorists had prepared an additional trigger system by adopting this technology.
Were mini-rockets also involved in this conspiracy?
Investigation has revealed that the module was also making small mini-rockets. These were to be used in car bombings as well as drone attacks. Traces of explosives were also found under the rear seat of the car, which clearly shows that the car was being prepared like a multi-layer bomb.
Were preparations going on for a Hamas style drone attack on Delhi?
- NIA found that this module was copying the drone bomb attack models being used in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.
- Camera and big battery were being installed in the drone.
- Arrangements were being made to drop the bombs remotely.
- Testing of making small rockets was also going on.
This is the first time that an attempt to use both drones and rockets by a terrorist module in Delhi has been revealed.
Were several ‘blast devices’ prepared for serial blasts?
The NIA suspects that the car was not just an improvised bomb, but it was a blast setup with multiple components.
- a shoe bomb
- a car bomb
- drone bomb
- small rocket
If this module had been successful, there could have been blasts at many places in Delhi simultaneously.
Are the arrested accused only part of the entire module? Or is there a larger network active?
Many NIA teams are conducting raids in Delhi, Kashmir and Haryana. The investigating agency believes that this module was not alone – there could be a bigger Jaish network behind it, the search for which is still going on.
How did the entire module break? In which states are the raids going on?
Wani’s name came to light after interrogating the doctors arrested in the investigation. After this, the NIA team conducted raids at many places in Srinagar, Pampore, Kulgam, Faridabad and Delhi. Now the agency is adding a map of every member and every technical part of this module. It is clear from the NIA investigation so far that this was not just a car blast incident, but a multi-level terrorist conspiracy, which included dangerous elements like drones, rockets, TATP and shoe bombs. If the module had not been revealed in time, there could have been a major devastation in the capital.
