New Delhi/Dhaka. Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was sentenced to death on Monday 17 November. The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) of Dhaka has given him death sentence on charges of instigating murder and ordering the murder. Bangladesh on Monday formally requested the immediate handover of Sheikh Hasina and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. Bangladesh said India is bound to do so under the bilateral extradition treaty. Let us tell you that Hasina had gone to India in August 2024 after the coup in Bangladesh.
