This momos seller earns 1 lakh in 5 hours every day, users have done postmortem of the news

In a viral video, a roadside momos seller has claimed to earn ₹1 lakh daily. According to the video, he sells 950 plates in 5 hours. However, people have done calculations and called this claim impossible and false.

Nowadays, street vendors doing their own work earn more than the employed people who wait for their salary at the end of the month. The news of Panipuri and Golgappa sellers earning thousands of rupees a day has already gone viral. Similarly, now a roadside boy selling momos has claimed that he earns Rs 1 lakh every day, and his video has gone viral.

Shoplifting happens only from 5 to 10 pm

An influencer named Cassy Pereira has posted this video on her Instagram. In the video, he is seen helping a roadside momos seller. He captioned the video, “This is the right time to start a momo shop.” In the video, he tells that together they sold 950 plates of momos in a day. The price of one plate was Rs 110. According to this, the boy earned Rs 1,04,500 in a day. He also told that this stall is open only from 5 pm to 10 pm.

What do netizens say?

As soon as this video went viral on social media, people started doubting it and the boy’s earnings. Many people commented that who eats such expensive momos on the roadside. Some jokingly said that nowadays everyone is earning more than those in corporate jobs. At the same time, a user expressed his sadness and wrote that I would not have been able to earn as much in a whole year as he earns in a day. More than 8 lakh people have watched this video.

People calculated and said – this is not possible

One user wrote, “This is a big lie. No one will pay Rs 110 for a plate of momo and it is impossible to sell more than 900 plates.” Another commented, “Nowadays everyone is earning more than a B.Com graduate.” Some people calculated and declared this claim wrong. One commented, “If he spends even 1 minute on one customer, it will take 900 minutes i.e. 15 hours to sell 900 plates. That too if he works non-stop. So this is a big lie.”

Another user expressed doubt and asked whether he was really selling 188 plates of momos in 1 hour? If we do the calculations, this statement appears to be false. There are only 300 minutes in 5 hours. If he sells 900 plates in 300 minutes, that means he has to sell one plate every 20 seconds. Even if the plates are prepared in advance, it is not possible to sell a plate every 20 seconds for 5 hours continuously. That’s why it seems to be a lie.
