AFCAT 2026 Branch Wise Vacancies: There is a big opportunity for the youth who are dreaming of becoming officers in the Indian Air Force. Indian Air Force has released the notification of AFCAT 2026 and the application process has also started. The registration window started from 17th November 2025 and will remain open till 14th December 2025. Through this recruitment, candidates will be selected for a total of 340 posts from flying branch to ground duty (technical and non-technical). Both boys and girls can apply in all major branches. How many seats in AFCAT flying branch?

Flying branch recruitment in AFCAT 2026 will be done under Short Service Commission (SSC). There are total 38 posts here.

  • For male candidates: 34 seats
  • For female candidates: 4 seats

Ground Duty (Technical Branch) Vacancy

AE (Electronics) and AE (Mechanical) technical branch is the biggest category this time, because most of the seats are available here. In which-

Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branch) Vacancy Details

Recruitment in non-technical branch will be done only under SSC (Short Service Commission). Here seats have been earmarked for different departments. The branch wise distribution of seats in AFCAT 2026 is as follows-

  • Weapon System: 21 seats have been earmarked for male candidates and 5 seats for female candidates.
  • Administration: 48 seats are available for men, while 12 seats are available for women.
  • Logistics: In this branch, men will get 9 seats and women will get 2 seats.
  • Accounts Department: 8 seats are earmarked for men and 2 for women.
  • Education Department: There are 2 seats each for both men and women.
  • Meteorology Department: There is a provision of 1 seat for men and 2 seats for women.

NCC Special Entry- Flying Branch Vacancy

If you have NCC ‘C’ Certificate, then this is a different opportunity for you. Under NCC Special Entry, candidates can get a place in both Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC). In this, seats are not decided separately, but out of the total seats – 10% seats under CDSE, 10% seats under AFCAT are reserved for NCC cadets.
