Lucknow Metro Phase 1B: The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister has approved Phase-1 B of Lucknow Metro Rail Project at a cost of ₹ 5,801 crore. The length of this phase will be 11.165 km and will have 12 stations-7 underground and 5 elevated.
Lucknow News: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has welcomed the approval of ₹ 5,801 crore to Phase-1B of Lucknow Metro Rail Project by the Union Cabinet. He said that this decision under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make the traffic system of the capital easier and will create new opportunities for employment, tourism and investment. CM Yogi thanked the Prime Minister and said that this project will take Lucknow to new heights, connecting various economic, social and commercial facilities. Lucknow Metro’s Phase-1B will be 11.165 km in length, including 7 underground and 5 elevated stations. This metro will cover old and densely populated areas, where there is a lack of efficient connectivity. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh is reaching new heights of development with the vision of Prime Minister Modi. This project will not only increase connectivity, but will also speed up economic activities and give a new dimension to tourism.
Union cabinet approved under PM Modi
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday approved Phase-1 B of Lucknow Metro Rail Project in Uttar Pradesh. When this phase-1 B is operational, there will be a 34-km active metro rail network in Lucknow city. The project will connect commercial centers such as Aminabad, Jeiyaganj, Pandeganj and Chowk in Lucknow. Also, health facilities like King George Medical University and tourist attractions like Bada Imambara, Chhota Imambara, Bhool Bhulaiya, Clock Tower, Rumi Darwaza will promote tourism where there is a rich culture of Pakkala sites.
This project will facilitate traffic on congested routes
This project of Lucknow Metro, especially on the crowded routes of old Lucknow, will reduce the congestion of traffic, this will lead to smooth movement of vehicles. After the project climbs, this will reduce the travel time and increase road safety. This project is also important from the environmental point of view, this will reduce carbon emissions compared to metro fossil fuel -based transport, which is a step towards sustainable development. Apart from this, better connectivity will increase productivity, access to airport, railway station and bus depot will be easier. This will encourage local businesses, bring new investment and create employment opportunities.
