After the defeat in Bihar elections 2025, discord in Lalu family has increased. Following Rohini Acharya’s allegations of abuse, her 3 sisters moved from Patna to Delhi. Tej Pratap supported his sister, which has deepened the family crisis in RJD.
Patna: After the historic defeat of RJD in Bihar elections 2025, the tension in Lalu Yadav family seems to be coming to the surface openly. Rohini Acharya’s emotional rebellion on Saturday seemed to have lit the gunpowder in the house, and the very next day Lalu Prasad Yadav’s three more daughters, Ragini Yadav, Chanda Yadav and Rajlakshmi Yadav, suddenly left for Delhi from their 10 Circular Road residence in Patna.
Since Sunday morning, there was a hustle and bustle of luggage packing and movement at Rabri Devi residence, after which the three sisters along with their children reached the airport and boarded the flight without any communication with the media. Although some family sources claim that it could be a pre-planned trip, but the timing has raised the political temperature.
Now the situation has become such that Rabri residence, which was once considered the strategy center of RJD, is almost vacant. Only Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi and Misa Bharti are said to be present here. Whereas Tejashwi Yadav is maintaining silence on this entire controversy, and spends most of his time outside Patna or in meeting mode.
The real smoke of tension arose from the allegations of Rohini Acharya, who claimed on social media that she allegedly received abuses, misbehavior and even threat of hitting her with slippers by Sanjay Yadav and Rameez. She even wrote in the post, “I was uprooted from my maternal home… I have become an orphan.”
On the other hand, Tej Pratap Yadav, while openly supporting his sister, posted a post with religious-aggressive tone, in which he gave the message that those who insult him will get the punishment of “Sudarshan Chakra”. This statement in itself indicates the sharp lines within the family.
This whole matter is being discussed rapidly in political circles. Union Minister Chirag Paswan called it emotional and sad, while JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar, while seeking reaction from Lalu Yadav, gave the example of “Dhritarashtra”. Analysts estimate that if the situation continues to deteriorate like this and the leadership does not show seriousness in dialogue and solution mode, then it may impact not only the family but also the future political ground of RJD.
