A 22-year-old student, who was caught allegedly cheating with a mobile phone in the re-exam at a center in Jaipur, seems to be in trouble. The court has sent the student to judicial custody.

Police gave this information on Monday.

Police said that the student has been identified as Himanshi Tiwari, resident of Thadi, Prem Nagar, Gurjar. After being caught at the examination center on Sunday, he was produced in the court on Monday, from where he was sent to jail.

The incident took place at an examination center in Bindayaka area, where the student was found using a mobile phone during the examination. Supervisors became suspicious of his activities and upon searching, found the mobile phone hidden inside his clothes.

To find answers with the help of AI

During police interrogation, the student told that she had brought her mobile during the examination to find answers to the questions with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Officials said that the mobile phone has been seized and sent for forensic examination. Pictures of NEET question paper were also found in the mobile phone found with the student about 15 minutes before the end of the examination. She could not send out photographs and other information as jammers were active around the examination centre.

The metal detector had alerted twice

Initial investigation also revealed that the metal detector had alerted twice at the time of entry, but the student misled the security personnel and got entry. Officials are also interrogating the exam center superintendent and exam invigilators to find out how the mobile phone was taken inside despite the security check.

Provision for punishment of up to five years

Police said further action would depend on the forensic report. If the allegation is proved, the student can face imprisonment of up to five years and a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh under relevant provisions.
