These women of Jhansi started business with just Rs 10,000, earning lakhs

Rural women of Chirgaon block of Jhansi have set an example of self-reliance by starting the manufacturing of LED bulbs with the help of the State Rural Livelihood Mission of the Yogi government. With training, market and support, women are earning by making more than 150 bulbs daily.

When the light of change starts shining in the village streets from the hands of women themselves, then it becomes not just an initiative but a new story of self-reliance. The women of village Jariai of Chirgaon block of Jhansi district have set a similar example. ‘Jai Maa Ratangarh Wali Women Self-Help Group’, formed with the help of State Rural Livelihood Mission, is today not only earning money by making LED bulbs on its own, but is also becoming a source of inspiration in the entire area.

Village women became entrepreneurs, Roshni’s business reached every home

Under the guidance of the State Rural Livelihood Mission, 12 women of the group started the LED bulb manufacturing initiative about 8 months ago. Initially, the women collected Rs 10,000 and bought the necessary items and started production after training provided by the government.

Group president Anjana said that raw material is provided to the women for making bulbs and the marketing of the finished bulbs is also done by the women of the group themselves. Today this group is producing more than 150 bulbs every day and selling them in the nearby villages.

Courage increased due to government support, new employment opportunities created

BMM Kalpana of Chirgaon block said that after the formation of the group, women were given training in related work. The government also provides free stalls for the sale of these products in exhibitions and fairs, so that women do not face any difficulty in reaching the market.

The aim of the state government is not only to provide training but also to provide sustainable livelihood to women in rural areas. Through this model, not only the income of women has increased, but their confidence in family and society has also been strengthened.
