NDA has scored a ‘double century’ by winning 202 out of 243 seats in the Assembly, after which the activities to form a new government have intensified. According to information received from sources, Nitish Kumar can take oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time on November 20, which will be a record in Indian politics.
when was the last cabinet meeting
Before starting the process of formation of the new government, the last meeting of the current cabinet will be held tomorrow i.e. on 17th November. In this meeting, an official recommendation for dissolution of the present assembly will be sent to the Governor. On the same day, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will submit his resignation to the Governor and may also stake claim to form the new government soon after. Let us tell you that the tenure of the current assembly is till 22 November. The notification of the 18th Assembly is likely to be issued today (Sunday).
NDA’s landslide victory and balance of power
In this election, after 2005 and 2010, NDA has once again returned to power with a huge majority. BJP has become the largest party in Bihar with 89 seats. Whereas JDU has got 85 seats, LJP (Ram Vilas) has got 19 seats, HAM has got 5 seats and RLMA has got 4 seats.
After the results, JDU national working president Sanjay Kumar Jha and Union minister Lalan Singh reached Delhi and met several senior BJP leaders including Home Minister Amit Shah. Earlier, these leaders had also met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna.
Consensus on Nitish’s name
NDA’s allies have made it clear that Nitish Kumar will be the Chief Minister in the new government. JDU is calling a legislature party meeting today (Sunday), while the BJP legislature party meeting is likely to be held on Monday. In these meetings, Nitish Kumar will be formally elected as the leader of the NDA legislature party, after which he can take oath on November 20.
