India vs South Africa: Shubman Gill has been ruled out of the first test of the series being played in Kolkata. This means that Team India will now have to win the test match against South Africa without its captain. BCCI shared the information about Shubman Gill’s exclusion on social media. Giving an update on Gill’s injury, BCCI said that he will remain under doctor’s observation for the time being.
BCCI update on Shubman Gill
BCCI gave an update regarding Shubman Gill before the start of the third day’s play in Kolkata. BCCI said that the Indian captain will no longer be a part of the Kolkata Test. Meaning Team India will have to play without him. BCCI’s medical team is continuously investigating him.

Shubman Gill got injured in the second day’s play
Shubhman Gill has got stiffness in his neck. He faced this problem while batting on the second day of the Kolkata Test. When Gill, who came to bat in the first innings, hit a boundary on the third ball of his innings, he felt a problem in his neck. Seeing Gill in pain, the physio had to come to the field. The physio examined Gill’s injury and then decided to take him off the field.
When Shubman Gill retired and went out of the field after being hurt, he was playing after scoring 4 runs on 3 balls. After that he did not come to bat in India’s first innings. And, now according to the latest update on Gill, he is out of the Kolkata Test itself.
