Later it was promoted as Globe Trotter, which was actually the name of the event which took place in Hyderabad on the evening of 15 November. Through this event, Rajamouli announced the official title of his next film. Also unveiled Mahesh Babu’s first look and its release date. The film’s lead actress Priyanka Chopra and villain Prithviraj Sukumaran were also present at the event.

While sharing the first look poster of Mahesh Babu, Rajamouli wrote in its caption, “Mahesh Babu in the role of Rudra in Varanasi.” Obviously Mahesh Babu is the lead hero of the film and his character’s name will be Rudra. In the first look poster, Mahesh Babu is seen sitting on a bull in the same way as Lord Shiva rides Nandi. Mahesh Babu has a trident in his hand and the saffron flag is also visible on it. Anger can be seen in his eyes and glimpses of temples can be seen in the background. Mahesh Babu is seen in this look in an angry avatar.

When will Mahesh Babu-Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’ be released?
Earlier it was being speculated that Mahesh Babu starrer ‘Varanasi’ would hit the screens by the end of 2026. But the makers have announced with the new poster that S.S. This action film directed by Rajamouli will be released in 2027. However, the official date has not been announced yet. But the makers have confirmed that it will be released in many languages including Telugu, Hindi and Tamil in the summer season. The looks of Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran have already been revealed. Both are playing the characters named Mandakini and Kumbh respectively in this film. The budget of the film is said to be around Rs 1000 crore.
