Since then, there have been allegations of corruption against Justice Verma. On Tuesday, a proposal for impeachment was brought in the Lok Sabha against Justice Warma. Along with accepting which a committee of three members has also been formed. Which includes Supreme Court Judge Arvind Kumar, Madras High Court Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Srivastava and Karnataka High Court Senior Lawyer VB Acharya. This committee will investigate the allegations against Justice Verma. After that, if the charges are found to be correct in the investigation, then action will be taken after being removed from their post.
What will be pension and other facilities?
Now the biggest question is that if Justice Yashwant Verma is removed from his post through impeachment, will he get pension and other facilities or not. After all, what do the rules say? On this, experts say that if a Justice is removed through impeachment to the special Chief Justice, then they will not be given pension or any other facilities, which are usually given to the rest of the former judges. The salary of the Chief Justice of any High Court and the pension and gratuity made after that is not reduced. How much is pension?
After the Judgment of Su Prem Court, the salary of all the High Court Chiefs of the country is Rs 2.50 lakh. If we talk about annual pension, then it is 15 lakh rupees. This means that the High Court Chief Justice gets more than one lakh rupees every month. With which dearness allowance is also associated. If we talk about gratuity, then you get 20 lakh rupees. Talking about the general judges of the High Court, they get a salary of 2.25 lakh rupees every month. Whereas their annual is 13.50 lakh rupees. In which dearness allowance is also connected. At the same time, 20 lakh rupees are found in the form of gratuity.
