Dgca indigo show cause notice: Aviation Regulator DGCA has taken major action on IndiGo, the country’s largest airline. DGCA has issued a show-cose notice to IndiGo alleging that the airline has conducted a category of about 1700 pilots C (Category C) i.e. ‘Critical Airfield’ training on non-recognized simulator (Non-Qualified Simulator). After this case comes to light, there has been a stir in the aviation sector, as pilot training is directly related to flight safety. Everyone is now eyeing DGCA’s next step.

Non-recognized simulator accused of training

DGCA issued this notice after investigating IndiGo’s record and reply from the airline last month. Investigations found that the simulators used for category C training were not eligible for the operation of some important airports such as Calicut, Leh and Kathmandu.

Strict rules on special airports

According to DGCA, airports like Calicut have table-top runways where pilots need additional training and certification for landing and takeoff. In such a situation, training on non-recognized simulator is considered to be serious security negligence.

What did Indigo say?

IndiGo said that we have received a show-cose notice from DGCA which is associated with simulator training of some of our pilots. We are reviewing it and will reply to DGCA within the appointed time limit.
