New Delhi: SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited action-packed movie starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran has been titled ‘Varanasi.’ In an event at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, thousands of fans thronged to see a glimpse of SS Rajamouli’s next project title.
The team set up a huge screen to announce the title of the movie. Initially, ‘GlobeTrotter’ was tentatively titled, but now, at a grand event, fans witnessed the first-look posters of Priyanka and Prithiviraj.
Whereas, Rajamouli himself unveiled the superstar Mahesh Babu’s epic motion poster on the large screen. Mahesh Babu has a huge fandom, and with the title announcement, his fans received festive-like news. A lot of buzz was created regarding the title before today’s announcement, and Varanasi’s title was also leaked on social media just a few weeks ago.
In the epic motion poster, Mahesh Babu was seen hoisting a trishul while riding a bull on a dusty road. The poster is giving the Varanasi holy city vibes, as the movie might potentially be set around or connected with that.

The Grand Globetrotter event shaped the title launch event at another level as more than 50,000 fans gathered under one roof. It was the biggest stage ever just for the title launch globally, including a 100 ft height and a 130 ft wide screen.
Some Mahesh Babu fans sparked buzz as they travelled 6,817 kilometres from Perth, Australia, to Hyderabad just to see a glimpse of their favourite superstar.
About the movie:
Mahesh Babu is going to be seen in the role of Rudra in the film Varanasi. While Priyanka Chopra will also be seen in the role of Mandaki. Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran will portray a powerful villain named Kumbha. The movie will hit the big screens in summer 2027.
