On the seventeenth day of the monsoon session, Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge joined on Tuesday along with other members of the India Block in a protest in Parliament on the SIR issue. Many opposition MPs reached Parliament wearing a white T-shirt with slogans of ‘124 Not Out’, when NCP (Sharad Pawar), MP Supriya Sule and DMK MP Kanimozhi were seen holding onions during the protest.
On Monday, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi and other MPs of India Block were taken into custody by Delhi Police while marching from Parliament to the Election Commission office to protest against the alleged irregularities in Bihar.
