In Alirajpur, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda and the fifth Tribal Pride Day with great pomp. On this occasion he unveiled the statues of martyr Chhitu Kirar and Birsa Munda.
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated 156 development works with great enthusiasm among the tribal brothers and sisters in Alirajpur on Tribal Pride Day. On this occasion, he unveiled the statues of Lord Birsa Munda and Martyr Chhitu Kirar and gave the message of tribal culture and bravery. He said that today is as special for us as Diwali and Holi. The 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, the immortal son of Mother India, symbol of self-respect and swaraj, guardian of tribal identity and protector of the land, is being celebrated with great pomp. On the fifth Tribal Pride Day, India is honoring the memories of its tribal heroes in all directions. In the sacred soil of Alirajpur, adorned with the bravery and hard work of the tribes, two immortal warriors of the freedom struggle, Shaheed Chhitu Kirar and Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad, were born. Martyr Chhitu Kirar organized the tribal power in the war of 1857 and defeated the British. It is a great privilege to get the opportunity to unveil the statue of Lord Birsa Munda and immortal martyr Chhitu Kirar.
Alirajpur rich in tribal culture is no less than heaven – CM
CM said, Alirajpur area rich in tribal culture is no less than heaven. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state has received many gifts of development. On Tribal Pride Day, Alirajpur is getting the gift of 156 development works at a cost of Rs 250 crore for tribal welfare. 156 works for education, health and infrastructure of tribal brothers and sisters are being inaugurated and bhoomi pujan is being done. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was addressing the state level program organized in Alirajpur on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day. He inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp and participated in the chorus singing of Vande Mataram. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav unveiled the statues of Lord Birsa Munda and Martyr Chhitu Kirar. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was warmly welcomed by the tribal brothers and sisters when he reached Alirajpur.
Got identity due to Alirajpur being named after King Aliya
The Chief Minister said that the British tortured and massacred the countrymen. Lord Birsa Munda took the tribal society along and challenged the British by launching an armed rebellion. He also campaigned for de-addiction and protection of mother cows. Tantya Mama, immortal revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad and martyr Chhitu Kirar carried forward the campaign of independence from the land of Madhya Pradesh. We all feel proud remembering the freedom fighters. Chhitu Kirar was a symbol of the bravery of this land. He protested boldly against the exploitation and forced taxation of the British. During the famine, grains were taken out from the British warehouses and distributed among the needy families. The heroes of the tribal area had an important role in the independence of the country, but after independence, the tribal heroes were not given that respect. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, tribal pride is being re-established along with its prestige. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Alirajpur is a land of tribal culture and self-respect. Raja Aliya was a symbol of self-respect, leadership and tribal pride of the region.
Development and public welfare is our resolve – Chief Minister
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that today every eligible needy family in the state is getting permanent houses. Rakshabandhan and Bhaidooj are being celebrated every month by increasing the amount of dear sisters. Now the sisters have started getting Rs 1500 per month. Our feeling and determination for development and public welfare is clear. Mothers and sisters take care of the maintenance of the entire family without caring for themselves. Sisters are fulfilling the needs of the family and paying the fees of their children with the money of Ladli Brahmin Yojana. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, farmers are getting the benefit of Samman Nidhi. The state government is also giving an additional benefit of Rs 6 thousand to the farmers separately under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana. This is a recognition of their hard work. Farmers of the state are getting fair price for soybean through Bhavantar Yojana. The amount has been sent to the eligible farmers within 15 days. The state government will also purchase wheat at the rate of Rs 2600 per quintal. The Chief Minister said that 170 villages of the district will be benefited by getting irrigation facility from Narmada River and new employment opportunities are being created in the area with the establishment of diamond cutting industries.
Compensation of Rs 45 crore to farmers
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced to connect 20 wells built under MNREGA in every panchayat of Alirajpur district to power supply after testing. He said that farmers will be given a compensation of Rs 45 crore for the damage caused to crops due to yellow mosaic in the district. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated development works costing about Rs 200 crore. This includes Palas water pond and Masni barrage built at a cost of more than Rs 11 crore, high level bridge built at a cost of Rs 6 crore, 3 Sandipani schools, 12 tribal senior hostels, 2 primary health centers and 2 group health centres, boys/girls hostel and school building, one primary health centre, 7 sub health centers and IPHL lab. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also performed the bhoomi pujan of 51 development works costing Rs 50 crore.
Alirajpur received many gifts of development – Minister Nagar Singh
Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Nagar Singh Chauhan said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Alirajpur district is moving on the path of continuous development. Alirajpur: More than 150 villages are now getting Narmada Maiya water for irrigation. Alirajpur has received many gifts of development. More than 50 thousand wells have been built in the district under Kapildhara scheme. This will help in increasing the area under irrigation. He expressed the need for expansion of electricity system in the agriculturally dependent Alirajpur district. Minister Shri Nagar said that the state government is always ready for the welfare of the tribal society.
Benefit distribution to beneficiaries
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav distributed benefits to the beneficiaries under the schemes run by various departments. BC Sakhi Supriya of Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihood Mission, resident of Nargaon Sondwa, was honored for her excellent work. They provide the facility of banking transactions by crossing the river by boat and reach every village, thereby relieving the elders and villagers of the village from the trouble of going to the bank. Similarly, a loan of Rs 3 crore 80 lakh was distributed to 179 self-help groups of the district, under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, Sunaina Dawar of Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar was honored with a benefit of Rs 3 crore 15 lakh for her excellent contribution in renewable energy production.
CM saw the exhibition
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav observed and appreciated the exhibitions organized by various departments. An exhibition depicting the sacrifices of tribal heroes was presented by the Tribal Affairs Department. The Women and Child Development Department organized an exhibition promoting nutritious food and the use of coarse grains. MP. De-State Rural Livelihood Mission displayed attractive local products related to tribal culture like Tumda, Bohani, Galsan Mala, Bow and Arrow and employment based items. Cottage and Village Industries Department displayed Panjadari and block print products manufactured in Jobat. The exhibition of the Department of AYUSH included various Ayurvedic herbs, while the Department of Agriculture and Horticulture displayed products related to green manure and food processing units.
