A lot of action has been seen in the Kolkata Test match between India and South Africa in just 2 days and the match seems to be ending on the third day itself. Team India seems to be ahead in this match but a bad news has come for it. Indian captain Shubman Gill suddenly had to be admitted to the hospital in the middle of the test match. Gill suffered neck pain on the second day of the match, due to which he retired hurt. But now he has been admitted to a hospital in Kolkata, due to which it seems difficult for him to play in the second innings of this Test.

This accident happened with Gill on the second day of the first Test match being played at the Eden Gardens Stadium. On Saturday 15th November, Team India came out to bat in its first innings. When Washington Sundar was out in the first session, Captain Gill came out to bat. After facing two balls, Gill played a sweep shot on the third ball and hit a four. But as soon as he hit the shot, he started having severe pain in his neck and immediately took off his helmet. The team physio examined him and then he retired hurt.

After this, Shubman Gill did not come out to bat in the entire innings and remained sitting in the dressing room. But now the news has come which will increase the troubles of Team India. A report by RevSports states that considering the condition of Shubman Gill, he has been admitted to Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata, where he will stay for the whole night. The report also states that Gill has been kept under observation and has also been given medicine. How long the Indian captain will remain in the hospital or whether any kind of treatment will be required will be known only the next day.

However, no official information has been given by the Board of Control for Cricket in India yet. But from the latest situation it appears that if Team India needs it in the second innings, it seems difficult for Gill to play. The problem is that if this injury becomes more serious then it may be difficult for the Indian captain to play in the second Test match to be held in Guwahati. The second test match will start from 21st November.

After the end of the second day’s play, the team’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak definitely told that Gill had suffered this injury even before batting. Kotak revealed that the star batsman was feeling pain in the back of the neck since he woke up in the morning, which was unfortunate. Despite this, he came out to bat and his pain increased while making the shot, due to which he did not come out to bat again and the Indian innings ended with the fall of 9 wickets.
