Shubman Gill booed at Edgbaston for seeking repeated treatments! Bharat Army gave back after Gill’s ton

The Indian captain, Shubman Gill, has been battling discomfort on the field and had to summon the physio quite a few times, triggering the Edgbaston crowd, who started booing him. However, after he got the final run for the century, the Bharat Army, India’s official fan group, made a wild drum-beating celebration, answering the trolls.

What happened to Shubman Gill on Day 1 at Edgbaston?

India had a brief trouble in the middle order. If scanned at the top order, none but Yashasvi Jasiwal had a decent score. India was 99 for two when Jaiswal and Gill steadied the innings, but Jaiswal’s departure caused another trouble. The new inclusion Nitish Reddy and the keeper, Rishabh Pant, did not last long, and Gill had to wait for Ravindra Jadeja for another partnership.

The captain led from the front, standing not out at 114, but it had multiple pain concerns. Gill was repeatedly suffering from some back strain. Gill even requested the umpires if he can get some treatment in the next break.

However, around the 76th over, it became unbearable, and the physio was spotted pressing Gill’s lower back rigorously. Notably, he was suffering from the same issue at Headingley. However, the physio started treating his left leg too, stretching and pressing it.
