KFC Brings Back Two Fan-Favourite Discontinued Dishes After Popular Demand; Check What’s Returning To Menu

After years of petitions, social media pleas, and nostalgic cravings, KFC is officially bringing back two favourites. The move is a major win for fans who have been vocal about their return ever since the items disappeared from the menu.

First introduced in the mid-1990s, KFC’s potato wedges quickly gained “cult status” by the early 2000s, becoming a staple alongside the chain’s world-famous fried chicken. In 2020, the wedges were discontinued in favour of Secret Recipe Fries, leaving many customers disappointed. According to KFC, “thousands of social media comments and petition signatures” poured in, demanding their comeback.

Surprise Test Launch In Florida

Earlier this year, KFC tested a limited wedge comeback in Tampa, Florida, surprising fans and gauging demand. The trial was an instant hit. Encouraged by the response, KFC made the return official with a cheeky post on X: “HERE, DAMN.” The announcement has since been viewed more than ten million times.

“You asked (a lot), and we listened. Wedges are back,” KFC wrote in another post. Catherine Tan-Gillespie, President of KFC US, said the move is part of a broader brand revival. “Wedge-lovers, we heard you, and we agree it’s been five long years without wedges. But the wait is over. This isn’t just a nostalgic nod. It’s an example of how we’re turning feedback into action as we chart our Kentucky Fried Comeback.”

Hot & Spicy Wings Make Their Return

The KFC is bringing back its iconic potato wedges. Alongside the wedges, KFC is also bringing back its hot & spicy wings, absent from menus for nearly two years. Known for their crispy coating and fiery flavour, the wings will be available starting Monday, August 18, for a limited time while supplies last.

Fans can order wedges on their own, swap them in for any other side, or try them in the new six-piece wings and wedges combo with a medium drink. The double comeback, KFC says, is only the start of more fan-driven menu changes to come.

Judging by the flood of online excitement, these long-lost favourites are returning to open arms and hungry appetites.
