Al-Falah University FIR: The clampdown is being tightened on Al-Falah University in the Delhi blast case. On the complaint of UGC, Delhi Police Crime Branch has registered two FIRs against the university for cheating and fraud. At the same time, after the arrest of many doctors associated with terrorists, more serious questions have been raised on the role of the university. After the blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10, continuous action is being taken against the university.
Terrorist connection of Al-Falah University
The biggest revelation in the entire case came on November 9, when the police recovered about 2,900 kg of IED-making material from the rented premises of Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, associated with Al-Falah University. Investigation revealed that this entire module was influenced by Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. During the same time, Dr. Shaheen Shahid, who worked in the university, was also arrested. Police allege that she was handling the responsibility of creating the women’s wing of Jaish-e-Mohammed in India. A rifle and live cartridges were recovered from his car. The very next day after the arrest of Dr. Muzammil, Dr. Umar Nabi, who was part of the same module, carried out a blast near the Red Fort. 13 people died and 21 were injured in this explosion. Now two more doctors and a cleric of the mosque on the university campus have also been detained.
Membership of Al-Falah University canceled
As the investigation progressed, the university’s problems increased manifold. AIU (Association of Indian Universities) has already canceled the membership of Al-Falah. Now ED (Enforcement Directorate) has also started investigating the financial transactions of the university, especially the transactions of those employees and doctors, whose names are linked to the terrorist module.
NAAC also sent notice, big disclosure regarding recognition
On Thursday, the university suffered another major blow when NAAC issued a show-cause notice. It was reported that fake ‘Grade A’ recognition was being shown on the university’s website. NAAC clearly stated that the grade A shown on the website was wrong and misleading. The recognition of two institutions of the university had ended many years ago. As soon as the notice was issued, Al-Falah University removed its website.
Delhi Police summoned many documents from the university
Delhi Police has sent a notice to the university asking for many important documents. These include details of faculty and staff, records of hostels and rented properties, information related to foreign funding, documents related to background verification of employees. Investigating agencies believe that this entire module was part of the white-collar terrorist network.
