IPA Nationals, 2025, Bengaluru: The U14 Girls Singles final on the second day of the IPA Nationals 2025 delivered a spirited contest as Tamil Nadu’s Maanasi Karthik defeated Karnataka’s Joanna 15-7 to clinch the title.
Played on Friday, the matchup brought together two promising young players-Maanasi, who hails from Salem, and Joanna, representing the hosting side, Karnataka.
From the opening rally, Maanasi displayed sharp footwork and composed shot selection, establishing an early lead. However, the match took an intense turn when Joanna staged a gritty fightback. Refusing to give in, she saved five game points in a remarkable display of resilience, drawing loud appreciation from the Bengaluru crowd. But Maanasi held her nerve at the crucial moment and eventually sealed the championship with a decisive winner, earning her one of the standout victories of the tournament’s early stages.
