IITF 2025: Bareilly’s zari-zardozi increased the pride of Uttar Pradesh, the art shines due to Yogi government’s ‘Local to Global’ initiative

With the Yogi government’s ‘Local to Global’ strategy and ODOP scheme, Bareilly’s zari-zardozi is gaining international recognition. Now this art is being exported to 40 countries and will be displayed as the pride of UP in the India Trade Fair.

Bareilly. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Local to Global’ strategy and One District One Product (ODOP) scheme has given a new lease of life to the traditional industries of Uttar Pradesh. Bareilly’s zari-zardozi, which was once limited to the streets, has now created its own identity in the international markets. This time Bareilly’s Zari-Zardozi will represent Uttar Pradesh in the India International Trade Fair (IITF) to be held in Delhi. Now this golden embroidery is becoming increasingly popular in the markets of Europe and Arab countries. Zari-Zardozi products are being exported from Bareilly to about 40 countries.

Fate of artisans changed with ‘Local to Global’ vision

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had started the ODOP scheme with the aim of giving global recognition to the traditional industries of the state, making local workers self-reliant and promoting investment. Since the inclusion of Bareilly’s Zari-Zardozi in this scheme, there has been a significant increase in branding, marketing and export. According to Industrial Deputy Commissioner Vikas Yadav, today the shine of Bareilly’s zari-zardozi has reached Australia, Singapore and Gulf countries. This embroidery on leather jackets, bags, clutches, dupattas and party wear gowns has become the first choice of foreign customers.

Bareilly’s stalls will become the center of attraction in the international trade fair.

Inspired by the support of Yogi government and the facilities of ODOP, the leading entrepreneurs of Bareilly are all set to participate in the India International Trade Fair (IITF) Delhi. This time, units like Nawab Zari Art, Rashmi Zari Art, Sanam Zari Art, Shikha Enterprises, Kamal Traders (Shalu Saxena), Aman Attire Pvt Ltd (Atif Khan), MA International, Qadri & Sons, Saqib Zari Art, Kumkum Zari-Zardozi will participate from Bareilly division. These entrepreneurs have prepared their products as per global demand. It is expected that many new export agreements will be signed this year and the international identity of Bareilly’s Zari-Zardozi will become even stronger.
