Now China will also know the strength of Chhattisgarh, the largest consignment of copper ever sent from India!

Chhattisgarh shines not only in copper but also in tin.

Chhattisgarh has set a new record by exporting 12,000 metric tons of copper concentrate to China. This historic consignment was dispatched from Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) located in Nava Raipur. Senior officials of the Chhattisgarh government say that with this step the state has now established itself as an emerging logistics center on the global trade map. The facilities of this logistics park will now be available to the industries of entire Central India. On November 11, the first rake carrying 2,200 metric tonnes of copper was sent to China by sea from Visakhapatnam port, the remaining consignment is also being sent in different phases.

Chhattisgarh shines not only in copper but also in tin.

Chhattisgarh is not limited to just this big consignment of copper. This state has always held a special place in terms of mineral resources. Along with copper, Chhattisgarh has another unique achievement: it is the only tin producing state in India. 100 percent tin production in the country comes from Chhattisgarh.

Tin ore reserves are concentrated in Dantewada and Sukma districts of the state, which constitute about 36 percent of India’s total tin ore reserves. This is a big deal because tin plays an important role in making electronics, defense equipment, solar panels and modern machinery.

Mineral income increased 34 times in 25 years

This progress of the state is not just a few years, but it is a huge leap. Over the last 25 years, Chhattisgarh’s mining sector has recorded incredible growth. When Chhattisgarh was formed in the year 2000, its mineral revenue was only Rs 429 crore. Today this figure has increased 34 times to Rs 14,592 crore!

Not only this, the mining sector is now contributing about 10 percent to the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of the state. The special thing is that this spectacular economic growth has been achieved while maintaining a balance with environmental protection and forest conservation. To maintain this momentum, the state government has also recently launched ‘Chhattisgarh State Logistics Policy 2025’. The aim of this policy is to transform Chhattisgarh into a major logistics and industrial center of the country by 2047.

Big step towards self-reliant India

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has described this export as an important milestone in the direction of ‘self-reliant India’. He has said that “This historic export of copper from Chhattisgarh is not just a commercial achievement, but it is a bold leap towards self-reliant India.” According to him, the state’s policies, industrial strength and investor confidence are making Chhattisgarh one of the leading states in the country for logistics and mineral development.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the state’s development model is not limited to economic expansion alone, but also gives importance to environmental sustainability and local employment generation. With modern infrastructure and strategic approach, Chhattisgarh is now all set to become not only the logistics and minerals powerhouse of India, but also has the potential to emerge as a significant player in global trade and industry.
